Storm clouds brewing over Combe Martin

by stickigloo @ 2005-07-08 - 14:49:04

There's a rumble in the skies and tonight it is feeling really close and sticky. In this photo you can just see the reflection of the water and the shape of the boats in Watermouth Bay near Combe Martin. The storm clouds are brewing as the sun sets over the distant sea and I cannot hear any birds so perhaps they know that the heavens are about to open!

sheep

The sheep looked at me and I looked back at the sheep, I could imagine him thinking "what are you looking at skin face!"
He scraped his foot on the ground, left a nice parcel of droppings on the floor and climbed on to his bicycle and rode off.

Okay so I exaggerated about the bike but he did leave the droppings!

There is something very therapeutic (wow that's a big word) about the sound of sheep as you walk above the sea towards Hang man hill.

Do all the baahs mean something different depending upon how many H's are at the end such as bah = hello, bahh = goodbye, bahhh = we are having egg and chips for tea tonight darling etc...Who knows. (Photo Courtesy of my big bruv Kevin in the big old US of A)

Okay folks what wild flowers are these? They look like the sort of flower that a pixie would use as a hat. "top of the morning to you Mr.Pixie, why that's a fine looking hat you have there, shame about the colour"
Once again I was near Hang Man hill overlooking Wild Pear beach, okay I know it's a nudist beach but I was only there to take photos of these beautiful flowers.....Honest!

For the first person to name the flower correctly there is a top prize of a box of Devon fudge so good luck.

Okay so it may not be a full box of fudge and the sell by date may be a bit iffy but its FREE, what more do you want!

Okay so once again I have traveled out of Combe Martin so perhaps I should rename this blog "Combe Martin Life plus a stones throw away".
This is me just about to enter the wild Woolacombe surf......Do you think I'm NUTS! Of course it's not me
A. I look like a fat black pudding in a wet suit
B. I don't do cold water
C. I have enough trouble staying on my feet let alone a surf board.
D. It was me taking the photo so how could I be over there?
E. I cannot think of an E.
This photo is also to prove that it is not always sunny around here as the other photographs would suggest, it has been known to rain now and again!
Anyway I take my hat off to all those suntanned, rugged, good looking and fit surfing dudes (don't you just hate them! Life's not fair! Why have I got a physique like a tube of toohpaste that has been squeezed at both ends so there is just a big bit around the waist!)
I am off to bed now so goodnight and see you back here tomorrow.
Love and big kisses - Martin

A couple of years ago I was walking my dog Bandit near Hang Man Hill and I heard a hiss, I looked down and there was this little fella. I just could not believe my eyes, this thing was part snake and part bear (please be assured that this photo has not been doctored in any way)
If you come across this creature then please be extremely careful and do not stop.......Boring or what! It had me standing talking to it for over an hour "I just wanted to be a normal snake", "my friends laugh at me" bla , bla, bla!
I told it to get a life and stop moaning, oh well one more Vodka before I go to bed!
I am so sorry but I started this blog with serious information and History bits but I seem to have wandered a bit of course.
Goodnight, love and kisses to you all, sleep tight and I will see you tomorrow. Bye.
